Oppo has officially announced the India launch date of the Oppo Reno 8 series of smartphones. The Oppo Reno 8 Pro will launch in India on July 18 at 6:00 PM IST. The phone has been launched in China,
so we know its specifications and features. Oppo has also been teasing the phone on its social media handles, focusing massively on its camera features. The Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ in the Chinese market is said to be rebranded as the Oppo Reno 8 Pro in India.
With that in mind, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro will come with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate support. The panel comes with Full HD+ (2412x1080) resolution and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max chipset and the MariSilicon X NPU. This is paired with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage. No word yet on expandable storage or other storage variants. The phone boots with Android 12-based ColorOS 12.1 which does have a lot of bloatware. It packs a 4,500 mAh battery but for the size of the display and the refresh rate, we would have preferred to see a 5,000 mAh cell. You also get 80 W fast charging. For cameras, you get a 50 MP primary lens, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2 MP macro shooter. For selfies, you have a 32 MP lens on the front. The phone competes with offerings from other companies such as the Vivo X80, iPhone SE 2022, and Samsung Galaxy S21 FE.
The starting price of OPPO Reno 8 Pro is ₹44,990 for the base variant with 12 GB 256 GB.
